The Hot Tub
Out on the deck, under an open mountain sky, with the river running below the house. Climb in after a day on the trails and let the heat do its work — the air is cold, the water is hot, and the stars up here are the kind you don't get at home.
No traffic. No streetlights. Just steam rising off the water and the sound of the river below.It's the best seat in the Upper Valley, and for a week, it's yours.
Outside
Multiple decks for morning coffee and afternoon shade. A firepit for the end of the night — the one place a group naturally ends up, long after dinner is cleared.
Trails are close by, and there's room on the property for trailers and side-by-sides, so bring the gear.
And the fishing is right here. The river runs below the house, so you can grab your rod and be casting in about a minute — no drive, no crowds, no hunting for public access. Bring your waders and a New Mexico fishing license, and the water's yours all week.
Inside — Three Levels
Two living rooms, each with a wood-burning fireplace and its own TV. Plenty of space to spread out, or to gather everyone in one room when the fire's going.
The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for real cooking, with an electric stove and a standard coffee maker. Dining table seats six, with bar stools for the overflow.
Starlink high-speed internet and smart TVs throughout — bring your own logins and stream whatever you like. Remote work is genuinely workable here.
Washer and dryer on site — handy for long stays, muddy trail days, and anyone traveling light.
Sleeping — Sleeps 12 • 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths
Main level: King suite with TV, double sinks, tub and shower. Half bath.
Upstairs: Open loft with a queen and two twins.
Downstairs: Queen bedroom with TV, king bedroom with TV, and two twins in the hallway — all sharing a full bath with tub and shower.
TVs in all three bedrooms. Sleeps 12 comfortably — room for the whole group.
Good to Know
No A/C. This is high-country living — the cool mountain air handles it, especially once the sun drops behind the ridge. Portable fans are on hand if you'd like a little air moving on warm afternoons.
Firewood: A ration of firewood is provided in the winter months only, December through March, for the indoor fireplaces. If you'd like to enjoy a campfire at the firepit, you're welcome to bring your own firewood.
Winter travel: A 4WD or AWD vehicle is strongly recommended in the winter months.
Pet-free property. We keep the lodge pet-free out of consideration for guests with allergies.
Traveling with a Larger Group?
We have three more properties right next door — Wright on the River, Moe's Riverside Lodge, and Moe's Riverside Cottage — all directly adjacent to River Chant Lodge. Book two or more and your whole group can spread out in comfort while staying together. Ideal for family reunions, group trips, and weddings.
The river's below the house, the fire's ready, and the hot tub's hot. Come stay a while.
